The NOVÁ HUŤ Coke Plant was the largest coke producer in the Czech Republic. The coke oven batteries, with stamp charging and a large-capacity coke oven battery with top charging, produced 1.2 million tons of coke per year. In its associated By-Product Plant the following chemical products were produced: tar, benzol, liquid sulphur, coke oven gas. Tar, benzol and liquid sulphur were successfully exported to domestic and foreign markets.

The Coke Oven Plant technology operated at a very high environmental level. The coke and by-products production had been certified by BUREAU VERITAS and met standards ČSN EN ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 requirements. Since 2015 the total process had been certified by TÜV NORD CERT GmbH and met standard ČSN EN ISO 50001 (energy saving) requirements.
